Varsity Boys win Thriller in Bryan 01/30/10 - Boys Basketball The Varsity Boys won 31-30 on Friday Night in Bryan against St. Joseph in the wildest game of their season to date. The Vikings jumped out to an early lead, but St. Joe's fought back and the game was tight the entire way. With 10 seconds left, the Vikings inbounded the ball under their own basket and Drew Raymond was able to slice down the lane for the game winning layup. St. Joe's got one last crack at the basket, but the shot was off the mark sending the Vikings home with the win. Pfavery Bennett led the team with 8 points, and the guys used a well balanced offensive attack combined with great defense to win their 3rd district game in a row. Thanks to all the fans who rode the fan bus and made the trip to Bryan. The Varsity Boys will play on Tuesday, Feb. 2nd against TCA at 7:30pm at home on Senior Night for the district title. Please come out and support both boys and girls teams as we try to make it a sweep of the district titles and please come out to see the seniors final regular season home game. |
