Softball Playoff Hopes End in Wichita Falls 05/02/10 - Girls Softball The Lady Viking softball team played San Jacinto Christian Academy at Midwestern University in the Bi-District playoff. The team started off strong defensively with outs made by Lauren Walker to Victoria Ramos and a strike out by Rachel Spross. The first at bat was also strong with leadoffs Spross, Haley Turpen and Morgan Deaver getting on base. Ramos came in the second inning to relieve Spross on the mound and finished the game with two strike outs. Chelsie Dansby did a great job catching for both pitchers. The team was flexible to shuffle during that transition. Each of the outfielders, Katie Stovall, Heather Tucker, Liz Kriston, Victoria Kriston, and Richelle Braswell, received a hit and were quick to get the ball in for a play. Kat Felan had an out at third in the second inning to stop San Jancinto's momentum as well as two outs in the fifth. In the final inning Stovall lead off and reached base by a walk. Heather Tucker came in as a pinch runner who stole 2 bases and scored on an RBI by Braswell. Turpen lead the team offensively by going two for three at bat. |
